Social Accounting
Research suggests that those companies which develop a reputation for being socially or ethically active enjoy higher levels of performance. Some call it the triple bottom line. Making Profits whilst looking after their people and looking after the planet. This is all very well for the big companies but for small and new businesses this is probably a challenge too far. So we have some ideas on some easy steps you could take to go the extra mile.
Over to you
People do business with people, as a small business you are all you’ve got to sell, of course a great service or product is essential, but at the end of the day you will naturally do continue to work with like-minded people. We would love to hear from businesses on how they take their role in society seriously and what ideas they can share with people. We will let you know of any opportunities we hear about where you can get involved, or any causes that you want us to champion for a month.

Responsible Trading
Without profits a company is not sustainable, if not sustainable then there is no contribution to the economy.
With a few tweaks this can be turned into socially responsible trading.
Social Responsibility
Small business managers need all their time to develop and grow the business, so where does the time come for giving back to the community.
B&E Together Ltd has one answer, on the job placements for young people.
Sustainable Planet
Looking after the environment can save money, recycling toner cartridges, papers etc, how about the cycle to work scheme, save tax on a bike and reduce your carbon foot print at the same time.
There are other ways to look after the environment that will help the bottom line.
